12-MAY-25 - MEDICAL - 05/12/25 14:22 Email from call center: owner called and said one of the drains had come out from the surgery his dog had while here. He did say he had an appointment for the removal on Wednesday and he said it isn’t leaking but wanted a call back to see if he should come in earlier or if its ok to wait until his appointment. I called and spoke with the owner, advising that since patient was scheduled to have it removed in the next couple of days, the drain comming out would not be harmful to patient and okay to wait until recheck on Wednesday. 08-MAY-25 - MEDICAL - MEDICAL WAIVER: MASS NOTED What is the medical issue? This patient came to the shelter with a mass on or under the skin. What has PRC done so far? The location of the mass has been documented in the medical record. If possible, a needle was used to get a sample of the mass and identification of the mass was added to the medical record. No masses have been surgically removed at this time. What can the adopter expect? Your primary veterinarian may recommend surgical removal of the mass later on with testing to confirm the type of tumor. They may also recommend monitoring the size of the mass for changes. Comments: Skin masses are often found on older dogs. These can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). The only way to be sure is to remove the mass and send it off for testing. All future care is the responsibility of the adopter. *Note: Any memo with MEDICAL WAIVER heading is provided as standardized information about said medical issue. Memo may be edited to reflect individualized patient as needed*

08-MAY-25 - INTERACT - 05/07/25 When staff came up to kennel, Sugar wanted to approach, but was afraid of unstable footing on the cot in her kennel. Sugar was leashed and taken out from the inside portion of her kennel. She was easy to leash and walked with no pull to play yard. When in yard, she preferred to sniff around relaxed, and did not have any interest in soliciting attention or taking treats and toys. No issues returning to kennel. -LB

07-MAY-25 - FOSTER - 05/07/25 09:46 Foster Note: Sugar loves tennis balls, Nylabone, tug toys. She’s friendly with dogs and people. Will try to chase lizards squirrels raccoons and probably cats. She wags her tail for you and gives lots of kisses, loves a soft bed to sleep in and loves getting pets and affection. She’s a love bug and happy little house hippo. Loves walks. She will walk for 15 minutes and ready to come inside for soft bed and naps. Minor separation anxiety calms down quick. Loves car rides, but currently needs help getting in due to injury. Sometimes will take treats, but prefers affection. Will chase after the tennis ball a few times then ready to come inside for a nap and A/C!
