18-APR-25 - Behavior - 04/18/25 Mia was easily leashed and walked with little pull and wagging tail. In the yard, she mostly sniffed around and kept to herself. She would approach CR and sit, expecting treats. Mia displayed subtle cues that she was uncomfortable when reaching to pet her by an avoidant gaze, pulling away, and/or yawning. She did allow brief petting on the head. Mia took treats gently and rolled around on her back. Mia was returned and unleashed by hand without issue. -CR

06-MAR-25 - Interact - 3/5/25 Per volunteer: Mia was easy to leash and walked well. She spent a lot of time sniffing the yard with no interest in toys. She got the zoomies when other dogs walked by. 05-MAR-25 - Interact - 03/05/25 12:05 - Romp in the front play yard; Mia sat at the front of her run with relaxed body language and was easy to leash. She was mostly easy to walk out to the play yard but pulled a bit. Her body language on the playground was loose and relaxed as she sniffed and explored, and did not really solicit attention from staff on her own. When approached she was relaxed and focused, and knows sit, down, and paw for treats. She was easier to walk back to the kennel and was easy to release. - LB

02-MAR-25 - Foster - 03/02/25 10:41 Foster note: Definitely shy/timid on the car ride home. Her first night was a lot of exploring the house and figuring out her surroundings. Within an hour she was a complete cuddle bug. Jumped up on the couch and laid with me the entire night. Adjusted really well to new surroundings and got into a routine really quick. ZERO issues with aggressive behavior. I also noticed when you give her pets/cuddles she pins her ears back and does this snarl/smile which I think can be taken as hesistancy or possible fear, but I found it's just her funny personality. I was also able to give her a bath without any issues. She did not seem to mind whenever i handled her food bowl. Overall she walks well on a leash but loves following her nose and gets amped up around squirrels. Also when walking she really didn't care too much about other dogs even when they barked at her, ehen people passed by she got very excited and wanted to meet them. She did love chasing the neighborhood cats out of my yard, she slipped out of a big gap in my fence one time, but again I whisteled/called her and she came back. She loves toys ! She did fine in the crate with zero destruction issues. Mia is an awesome pup and would be an amazing adventure lady for anyone that loves getting out and about. She loooooooooves car rides! She is the biggest cuddlebug! Loves getting head scratches, belly rubs, or just laying beside you on the couch/bed. At night she knows when it's bed time and slept with her dad on the bed all night long! On the weekends she loved sleeping in and getting a little extra cuddle time before starting the day! Best of all she is house trained and knows when she needs to use the bathroom outside.

11-FEB-25 - Interact - 02/11/25 15:54 Brought Mia out for a meet and greet with an adult citizen with a pre-teen child. Mia was easy to leash but pulled hard leading out of the kennel all the way to the yard. Once out in the yard with the citizens she acted aloof and did not solicit attention from citizens or staff for most of the meet and greet. Her body language was neutral and relaxed. When she did walk up to familiar staff for attention she was mostly relaxed but hesitant about having her neck and head touched. She was easy to lead back to the kennel and was easy to put back in the kennel via clip to slip. - LB

04-FEB-25 - Behavior - 02/04/25 17:43 JS did not have any issues interacting with Mia. JS was able to pet her neck and head. JS did not do a clip to slip to return Mia. Mia was nervous when interacting and JS took it slow with each interaction.
